WOMAN TONGUE
Titillating sometimes a tease
Spouting with pum pum ease
Words come gushing out
Creating new routes
Birthing a new age
Devoid of hatred and rage
No matter what the critics say
To soothe the savage beast
Water can work just as well as fire
No more bun bunning up my skin
I want to quench this sin
With rivers running
Sea water rushing to briefly taste my feet
Sinking firmly planted in the pebbles of time
I am remembering
All those lost lives
Of brothers I never met
And sisters who never bore me nieces or nephews
Haunting spectres of anciency
Relentless in their search
For our souls repatriation
Was it all worth the sacrifice?
Martyrdom of Black lives so that I could sip espresso
And bacchanal till sunrise?
I know there is more to life
Dis anarchy a stew just below the center of my core
Baptising me in the indigo shores
A 21st Century Caribbean Eve
Charting her path across the seas.
