40 YEARS AND WE STILL FEEL IT

Sexist – Racist – Homophobic heroes pillion ride on my backside

Feed me upper-crust, middle class contradictions

Snobs without nobility

Idealistic, Hetero-skeptical

I DON’T WATCH THE NEWS

Too many fools in control?????

Blending in

She washes blood stains out of her

Ruff-neck-slap-face-use-a-woman-as-a-human-shield Lova’s clothes

We all feel it

The earth is satiated with

Hardship misfits and innocents in the right place

At the wrong time

We all feel it

Left of right, right of center, in the middle

In balance?

Zen – Utopia – Nirvana - Heaven

Modern day prophets speak!

How do we keep the peace and the right to breathe free?

A child looks at me

Breaking pessimism with her laughter

I can see all of Jamaica in her eyes

And I am scared for her

For myself

And she laughs harder

Making me the fool

Bringing me back to life

Skanking to the music in her future

For her all is possible

And she infects me with happiness

I succumb to faith

Together we live this moment and dance.
